Associació Conèixer Història is a non-profit organization created in 2008 with the purpose of researching and disseminating the past to better understand the present and weave a more just and democratic future.
The founding members of the association are graduates and graduates in History Historical Culture and Communication. The ACH is open to anyone who wants to be a member, collaborate or make suggestions here sporadically.
The ACH, with its activity, want to dignify and honor those who fought against totalitarianism and for democracy and individual freedoms and collective.
The ACH also wants to recover the assets that constitute the so-called “memory space” where they became transcendent historical events, especially during the Second Republic, Civil War, Franco and Transition.
Outreach activities are based both on existing material and studies as done by the association’s own research. The website, talks and exhibitions are the most common site of dissemination.
We investigate and spread the past to understand better the present and to obtain
a more just and democratic future.
